2024 Perchance Sauvignon Blanc Beckstoffer Melrose Vineyard
Tasting Notes:
Sourced from the Beckstoffer Melrose Vineyard in Rutherford, the 2024 Perchance Estates Sauvignon Blanc benefits from extended élevage, revealing added dimension and composure without sacrificing freshness. Aromatics are finely layered, opening with Meyer lemon, white peach, and citrus blossom, followed by subtle notes of chamomile, fresh herbs, and crushed stone. The palate is focused and architectural, driven by bright citrus and orchard fruit framed by a quietly textured mid-palate. Extended time on the lees lends depth and polish, contributing a silken mouthfeel while preserving the wine’s natural tension. Hints of lemongrass, wet river rock, and a faint saline edge emerge with air, underscoring the vineyard’s Rutherford character. The finish is long and mineral-driven, marked by citrus oil, chalk, and restrained salinity. This is Sauvignon Blanc shaped by patience and place— precise, composed, and built to resonate well beyond its first impression.
